Quincie Hydock and Annalee Harlow of Q&A Productions are delighted to invite you to the world premiere of their new work, WE'RE ALL SKEWED! Join them for an evening of modern dance, impulsive commentary, live music, an ambitious set, and lighthearted confusion. Witness two characters struggle to find the balance between intuition, expectation, and experience. Beware of your inclination to form harsh judgement of their behavior because after all... we're all skewed.
This work was created through the Emergence Artist Residency program, facilitated by the wonderful Edjo Wheeler and Tana Sirious at Culture Lab LIC. Additional support has been provided by the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre.

Q&A Productions is a NYC-based duet dance theater company founded by Quincie Hydock and Annalee Harlow in 2014. As two individuals fortunate to be surrounded by a vast network of many talented artists, Q&A's goals are to create socially conscience performances for the enjoyment and consideration of dancers and non-dancers alike, to elevate other artists and create friendly performance spaces through curation and production, and to facilitate collaborations across artistic mediums. Throughout the entirety of their 7 years of creative partnership, Q&A have been passionate about making live performance that uses humor as a way to engage audiences in work that explores more serious themes like psychology, bias, identity, and mental illness. Quincie and Annalee grew up in Virginia Beach and met in high school at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA. Upon graduation, Annalee attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and earned a BFA in Modern Dance Performance. Quincie moved to Richmond to complete a traineeship with the Richmond Ballet and earned a BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Dance and Choreography. Since their move to NYC in 2013, they have worked collectively and individually with various dance artists including Teddy Tedholm, Sidra Bell, The Dance Cartel, Nicole Buggé, Mark Dendy, Jillian Peña, Orange Grove Dance, Eva Gertz (musician) and Reggie Watts (vocalist, musician, comedian).

Culture Lab LIC is a new nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formed to support the efforts of local artists who have been running the Plaxall Gallery, and its significant community work and arts programming over the past five years. Since opening our doors in October 2016, thanks to the generous donation from Plaxall Inc. of a 12,000 square foot converted warehouse, the programs and community outreach have doubled every year. With thousands of guests in attendance, serving dozens of nonprofit organizations, our surrounding community truly benefits from these efforts.
